Chapter XLVIII
As the conversation continues between the canon and the
curate, they agree that the common man is content to watch poorly written plays
that do not follow the rules of good art.
Meanwhile, Sancho attempts to convince his master, Quixote, that he is
not at all enchanted because the two men in disguise truly are the curate and
barber from their town; but Quixote continues to believe them to be magicians
who have taken on the likeness of the curate and barber.
