Chapter IX
The author describes how he finds the missing history of the
match between Quixote and the squire and proceeds to tell it: that Quixote
overpowers the squire and is ready to kill him until the ladies of the coach
beg him to stop; and then they agree to do whatever Quixote demands, which is
to go to see Lady Dulcinea.
Chapter X
Quixote and Sancho head out again into the woods and
converse about numerous topics: the rewards Quixote promises Sancho for his
service, the healing balsam Quixote claims he can make, Quixote’s damaged
helmet, and what little knights eat, until they end the day in the open to rest
for he night.
